About Precise unfolding, unfolding artists

Dan Goronszy

Dan Goronszy creates unusual arts experiences that provoke wonder and conversation about humanity, towards social change. She is a multi- disciplinary artist and collaborator drawing on participatory installation, live art, puppetry, public art, social practice and visual theatre. Dan’s works have been presented broadly including Brisbane Festival, Perth International Arts Festival, Alice Desert Festival, Dream Community Taiwan, Arts Centre Melbourne, Federation Square and ArtPlay. She is driven to reach audiences who may not seek out contemporary arts and cultural experiences, therefore privileging working in the public arena, and in suburban environments.

Dan’s work’s are playful, challenging and moving installations that gently subvert recognised rules of the public arena. In children’s works she pursues flipping child/adult dynamics in public space, proposing elevation of the child’s status, visibility and creative decision making. Furthermore, exploring and sharing alternative narratives of people and place, beyond the obvious or expected, is the cornerstone to her practice.  She received her Masters Degree Art in Public Space at RMIT (2018) graduating on Vice Chancellors Awards List. She sits on an LGA Public arts advisory committee. She is an Administrator of Australian Arts Amidst COVID 19 Facebook page, which arose to connect the arts sector, nation and artform wide, to share key resources, information, questions and ideas in this current climate of uncertainty.
